Retail Store Performance Dashboard
An interactive three-layer dashboard system analyzing retail sales performance across multiple fiscal years, enabling both high-level business monitoring and detailed transactional analysis.
Project Overview
This project focuses on building an interactive Retail Store Performance Dashboard using historical retail sales data across multiple fiscal years (FY13, FY14, FY15, FY16, and partial FY17). The dashboard is designed in a three-layer structure: Summary Dashboard, Overview Dashboard, and Detail Dashboard, enabling both high-level business monitoring and detailed transactional analysis.
Due to incomplete data availability for Fiscal Year 2017 (data available only up to February), year-over-year performance analysis was performed by comparing FY16 sales and profit against FY15, instead of using traditional MTD and MoM metrics.
1. Summary Dashboard
The Summary Dashboard provides a consolidated view of overall retail performance and profitability.

Key Visuals & Insights:
- Year-over-Year comparison of FY16 vs FY15 sales and profit
- Low Discount vs High Discount analysis to evaluate the impact of discounting strategies

- Profit contribution by product category
- Top 5 products by total sales
This dashboard enables stakeholders to quickly understand sales performance, profitability trends, and the effectiveness of discount strategies.
2. Overview Dashboard
The Overview Dashboard focuses on deeper performance analysis across geography, customers, products, and sales teams.
Key Features:
- Same KPIs for consistency across all dashboards
- Geographic map showing regional sales and profit distribution
- Customer type analysis based on sales and profit
- Account manager performance evaluation
- Top 10 products ranked by profit
- Discount vs Profit analysis to identify optimal pricing strategies
This dashboard supports strategic decision-making by highlighting high-performing regions, customers, products, and sales managers.
3. Detail Dashboard
The Detail Dashboard enables record-level exploration for in-depth business analysis.
Interactive Slicers:
- Fiscal Quarter
- Shipping Mode
- Customer Type
Tabular Fields Included:
- Order Number
- Customer Name
- Product Name
- Order Quantity
- Total Sales
- Total Profit
Using the same KPIs and slicers, users can drill down from summary insights to individual transactions, making this dashboard useful for operational analysis, performance audits, and data validation.
